How to choose the right pocket depth

Measure your mattress from the bottom edge to the top surface, including any topper or mattress pad. Choose a pocket at least 1 to 2 inches deeper than that measurement.

  • 6–9 inch pockets: thin mattresses, futons, RV and camper beds
  • 10–15 inch pockets: standard mattresses and mattresses with a thin topper
  • 16–24 inch pockets: pillow-top, hybrid and thick memory foam mattresses
  • 25–45 inch pockets: extra-tall mattresses and mattresses with several layers
